Draft Minutes

 

  1. Meeting called to order at 7:05 pm.  Attending:  Steve Webber, Leroy Baker, Linda Leetch, Tim Henneman, Christine Molling, Sue Studz (chair).

Excused:  Char Ohnstad

 

  1. Public comment – none

 

  1. September minutes approved:  Motion Baker/Leetch, approved 5-0 (Molling abstained)

 

  1. Review October newsletter reviewed.  Noted that page 6 of original newsletter replaced with budget.  P. 6 can run in its entirety in November

 

  1. November newsletter  planned– Editor for this issue will be Christine Molling  (Sue will be out of town).  Articles may include:

 

    1. P. 6 articles from 1st draft of October newsletter
    2. Police calls (Linda)
    3. Report on buidget meeting (Leroy)
    4. Good Neighbor committee and trails subcommittee (Tim)
    5. Election results?  (Depends on Brenda’s timeline), but since there are few contested races, perhaps just those  + the referendum figures could be reported (+% of Berry voters voting)
    6. Park name article updated with names submitted by residents (Christine)
    7. Park update (Sue)
    8. Roads (Linda)
    9. Call for Berry board candidates – papers due end of Dec. (Tim)

Additional suggestion for a future article re: area libraries, how the town is divided re signing up for library cards, etc.

 

  1. Newsletter publication policy revision were discussed.  Tim to prepare revised draft to discuss at November ComCom meeting.

 

  1. Town email addresses implementation status:  Leroy reports 18 board and committee email accounts were set up;  7 are up and working;  one person is having trouble connecting; 10 people have not responded.  

 

  1. Website:  Steve has met with Char Ohnstad re the website.  He has also reviewed the CD of past articles prepared by Leroy and has selected more than 30 that he feels are suitable to go up on the web (some with slight revisions) for reference by residents.   He also reports he is considering procuring new software to be able to help do the updates.  He plans to consult with town clerk, Brenda Kahl, re updating the website.

 

 

  1. Next meeting date is November 13, copy deadline is early this month: October 29. (note: no meeting in December, so plan for December & January issues at November meeting.

 

  1. Other business:  Henemann suggests deleting end time from header of Communications Committee agenda.

 

  1. Meeting adjourned at 9:15-ish.
