*The Public Budget Hearing was called to order at 8:00 pm

*Discussion/Questions/Comments on the proposed budget.

Motion Kent McDonald/Tony Varda to transfer $5,000 from the general budget into the park/conservancy budget line. Motion carried. Vote 34-0. Show of hands vote.

Motion Kendall Kahl/Wayne Baetsen to adjourn the public hearing at 9:10 pm. Motion carried. Vote 34-0. Verbal vote.

*The Special Town Meeting of the Electors was called to order pursuant to Section 60.12(1)(c) of Wisconsin Statutes at 9:10 pm.

1. To approve the total 2006 highway expenditures pursuant to Section 82.03 of Wisconsin Statutes.

Motion Kent McDonald/Jim Laubmeier to approve the 2006 total highway expenditures at $317,149. Motion carried. Vote 24-10 In favor: 24 Opposed: 10 Paper ballot

2. To consider the adoption of a resolution by the town meeting endorsing the town board resolution which proposes that the town levy will exceed the state levy limit under 66.0602 of Wis. Statutes, specifically a proposed tax levy which would exceed the town tax levy for the past year by 8.105% which would be a dollar increase of $29,814 over the town tax levy for 2004 of $367,814.

Motion Kent McDonald/Steve Richter to concrete two handicap parking stalls and a walkway to the town hall entryway not to exceed $2,000. Motion carried. Vote 27-7 In favor: 27 Opposed: 7 Verbal vote.

*Three electors departed the Special Town Meeting.

Motion Tony Varda/Stan Theis as resolved at this special town meeting, the town may exceed the state levy limits and increase the town levy for 2005 (to be collected in 2006) by such the percentage that is necessary over last years levy limit to accommodate the budget approved by the town electors at this Special Town Meeting. Motion carried. Vote 23-8 In favor: 23 Opposed: 8 Paper ballot

Motion Kendall Kahl/Wayne Baetsen to include the paving of the town hall parking lot into the overall budget which includes the handicap stalls and walkway. Motion carried. Vote 20-11 In favor: 20 Opposed: 11 Paper ballot

2. To adopt the 2005 town tax levy to be paid in 2006 pursuant to Section 60.10(1)(a) of Wisconsin Statutes

Motion Tony Varda/Kendall Kahl to adopt the 2005 local levy at $336,931 and to adopt the Fire and EMS budgets to make a total local levy of $417,628. Motion carried. Vote 23-8
